My “first-known” flare/relapse/exasperation was Optic Neuritis in my right eye. After a 7-day course of IV Methylprednisolone, my vision slowly returned to around 90-95%. Occasionally I wake up to the same familiar pain in my right eye and panic emerges until the pain eventually vanishes. Today was one of those days that I woke to panic because I am scared of the fact that if it reoccurs that my vision may be worse or gone completely. The crazy thing is that fear of being blind brought me to my MS diagnosis. If I hadn't gone blind in my right eye I would have never gone to the ER and I would have still never known.
